For most foreclosure sales the property cannot sell for less than two-thirds of its court-ordered appraised value (Ohio Revised Code 2329.20). For residential property, Ohio law sets the deposit by appraised value: $2,000 if appraised at $10,000 or less, $5,000 if over $10,000 up to $200,000, and $10,000 if over $200,000 (Ohio Revised Code 2329.211). An Ohio owner can redeem the property by paying the judgment, interest and costs any time before the court confirms the sale (Ohio Revised Code 2329.33).
